OTTOVAC (by Grabo®) Portable battery (4 x AA 1,5 V) vacuum lifter for glass and smooth flat ceramic – 100kg (220lbs) – Ø 200mm (8″)
The OTTOVAC is a tool that is going to change the way glaziers move and install glass or any smooth flat surface. It is a portable electric vacuum cup. It presents itself in a traditional pump action style cup, however, this sucks onto your material by simply pushing of a button, as well as releases pressure with that same button.
- Lifting vacuum pad Ø 200 mm (8″)
- Electric Suction: 100 Kg (up to 220lbs)
- Auto Stop/Start Smart Sensor
- Battery powered with 4 x AA 1,5V
- Pressure gauge integrated
This new tool completely removes the pump action that is traditionally needed to gain suction to the cup in addition, it also removes any mistrust on the actual vacuum suction the tool has on your glass because it comes with an automatic on/off sensor, which is built in the tool that tells the vacuum pump to engage to build suction, and to stop when it reaches sufficient vacuum, careful not to build too much suction and break or “pop” your glass.
On the other hand, in the event the tool begins to lose suction the tool will kick back in and regain suction, so you’ll always be in the safe zone for as long as you need it. When the vacuum in the base of the suction cup reaches -55 kPa, the pump will automatically stop after a three-second delay.
When the vacuum level drops below -55 kPa, the pump will automatically restart, reaching the required pressure during operation. The tool is rated to safely hold up to 100kg/220lbs and is powered by 4 AA batteries.
OTTOVAC lifting capacity
NOTICE: The OTTOVAC has been tested up to 200 kg (440 lbs) at maximum lifting force under ideal test conditions. However, this test weight figure is the breaking point under optimal laboratory test conditions and must never be reached in any real-world application!
Local regulations may require different safety margins. The official device Working Load Limit (WLL) has been set to 100 kg (220 lbs) based on a 2:1 ratio and 66 kg (145 lbs) on a 3:1 ratio for a non-porous surface.
The Working Load Limit of 100 kg (220 lbs) is 50% of the maximum lifting force tested and 66 kg (145 lbs) is 33% of the maximum lifting force tested under ideal conditions (200 kg/440 lbs) and this Working Load Limit must be adhered to when working in countries where the 2:1 and 3:1 safety margin applies.
Use the chart below to estimate safe lifting values: WLL: 2:1 ratio of 100 kg (220 lbs), 3:1 ratio of 66 kg (145 lbs) on non-porous surfaces.
IMPORTANT: The lifting force is highly dependent on the lifted surface and factors such as temperature, altitude (ambient pressure), and other factors.
Since different factors relating to your specific application may reduce the lifting capabilities of the device, always check the pressure displayed on the OTTOVAC vacuum gauge and do not rely solely on the estimated maximum lifting forces chart when lifting different materials.
